French-Speaking International Graduate from a Canadian Institution

This stream is a part of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC’s) temporary public policies, i.e., the Temporary Resident to Permanent Resident Pathway. Through this stream, French-speaking graduates (on or after January 1, 2017) living and working in Canada on a legal permit can apply for a Canadian Permanent Residence Visa.

Eligibility Criteria

Language Requirement

In this stream, it is mandatory to show strong knowledge of the French language. For candidates willing to submit an application for a Canadian Permanent Residence Visa, a minimum score of Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) Level 5 is required in all four modules.

Employment Requirement

To submit an application under this stream, the candidate should be legally working in Canada as a paid employee (at the time of submission of the application).

NOTE Experience gain within Canada being self-employed will not be counted for this application, but if the candidate is working as a medical doctor in a fee-for-service arrangement with a health authority, it will be considered.

Education Requirement

A candidate must have graduated from an eligible program at a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) on a legal permit on or after January 1, 2017, in one of the following programs:

• A degree (Associate, Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate) with a program length of at least 8 months.
• A diploma, certificate, or attestation for a program that was at least 2 years (16 months) in length.
• Two or more diplomas, certificates, or attestations where each program was at least 8 months in length.
• A degree, diploma, certificate, or attestation leading to a job from the list of eligible trade occupations.
• A diploma of vocational studies (DVS) or an attestation of vocational specialization (AVS) where each program was at least 1,800 hours in length.
• Two or more Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) or an Attestation of Vocational Specialization (AVS), where each program was at least 900 hours in length.
