Saskatchewan Occupational Demand Stream

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) is an immigration program managed by the government of Saskatchewan. With this program, the government of Saskatchewan takes care of the immigrant work force in the region and fully meets the labour market requirements. Immigrants willing to live and work permanently in Saskatchewan need to submit an application and wait for approval. Upon receiving approval, immigrants submit an application to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to apply for permanent residence in Saskatchewan.

The Saskatchewan Occupation In-Demand (OID) Stream is one of the immigration programs managed by the Saskatchewan government. This stream is a part of the International Skilled Worker (ISW) Category of Saskatchewan and is for those skilled workers who:

  • Wish to settle permanently in Saskatchewan, &
  • Meet the minimum eligibility criteria of this stream.

Minimum Requirements

Immigrants other than refugee claimants can submit their applications to the Saskatchewan Express Entry Stream. The minimum eligibility requirements for the stream are:

Score at least 60 points as per the SINP point assessment grid.

Need to show 90 Days older Proof of Funds and a settlement plan.

Work Experience

  • Primary Occupation should not be into the Excluded Occupation List of Saskatchewan.
  • At least one (1) year of work experience is required in the past 10 years, For skilled professionals, in skilled profile.
  • At least two (2) years work experience in the past five years is required in a Skilled Trade Profile.
  • Work experience must be related to the education.
  • Should have Professional Status or Licensure as per SINP Requirements.

Education Requirement

If earned within Canada

  • For Skilled Workers who attended qualification from school/ college within Canada, a diploma/ degree from a secondary institution (high school) or post-secondary institution is required

If earned outside Canada

  • If the Skilled Workers attended qualification from school/ college outside of Canada, an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) Report from one of the ECA Designated Authorities, for the purpose of immigration is required.
  • ECA Report showing earned education is equal to a diploma/ degree from a Canadian secondary institution (high school) or post-secondary institution.

HOW SINP EOI SYSTEM WORKS?

After receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) via the Expression of Interest (EOI) system, the applicant must submit a complete application with all required documents and a CAD $350 application fee.
