1 Directly related work experience 40 points

Work must be directly related to the offered occupation. Part-time work is converted to full-time equivalent. Canadian experience and current-employer bonuses have separate evidence requirements.

2 Education and designation 40 points

The Canadian education bonus applies only to the highest education credential entered. Professional designation points apply only to specific recognized occupations and designations.

3 English and French 40 points

Use the lowest CLB/NCLC across listening, reading, writing and speaking for each approved language test.

Language test results must be valid to claim points. Both languages at CLB/NCLC 4 or higher can earn 10 additional points.

4 B.C. job offer and hourly wage 55 points

Base wage only: exclude overtime, bonuses, tips, commissions and allowances. Annual wage is converted using 52 weeks and 30–40 regular weekly hours (30 for qualifying school teachers).

5 B.C. work location 25 points

Regional bonus is available only with an Area 2 or Area 3 job offer, and can be claimed only once. Regional experience and regional alumni each have time and location requirements.

6 Preliminary eligibility review

The calculator cannot verify occupation restrictions, employer support, minimum family income, job-offer requirements, licensing, or eligibility for targeted invitations.
