Who can qualify for this initiative?

It covers direct B.C. health authority employees in eligible rural or remote locations. Qualifying occupations are security guards and related security service occupations (NOC 64410), light duty cleaners (65310), and janitors, caretakers and heavy-duty cleaners (65312).

Applicants need health authority support, a regular full-time job with no end date, and at least nine consecutive months of qualifying employment with the same health authority immediately before registration. Contractor employees are excluded. Education, income and general program requirements also apply.

Does a score of 54 open this route to everyone?

No. The score applied to this initiative and selection date. It is not a Canada-wide PR score, a federal Express Entry CRS cut-off, or a promise of selection in another BC PNP category.

The previous invitation round for this initiative, on 17 September 2026, issued 33 invitations at a minimum score of 60. The October result was six points lower, but invitation numbers and thresholds can differ between rounds.

What does this mean for someone applying from India?

Cleaning or security experience in India alone does not meet this route's existing B.C. employment conditions. A general hospital job offer is also insufficient. The employer relationship, occupation, work location and qualifying employment period must fit the initiative.

This initiative does not offer the Express Entry BC option. A provincial invitation is an opportunity to seek nomination; it is not a nomination certificate or permanent residence approval.
