This was a CEC-specific round, not an invitation round for every candidate in the Express Entry pool. Candidates needed to qualify for the Canadian Experience Class and meet the ranking requirements for this selection.
CEC generally requires at least one year of eligible paid Canadian skilled work experience in the three years before applying. That experience must have been gained while authorized to work in Canada, in TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 occupations. Language and other program requirements also apply.
IRCC applied a tie-breaking timestamp of 21 September 2026 at 19:00:47 UTC. Among eligible candidates tied at 519, the date and time their Express Entry profiles were submitted determined selection.
A candidate with 519 points whose profile was submitted after that timestamp would not qualify at the cut-off in this round. A candidate with a higher score still needed CEC eligibility; points alone could not turn a Federal Skilled Worker-only profile into a CEC profile.
If your work experience is entirely outside Canada, this CEC draw was not a direct invitation opportunity for you. A Canadian degree alone also does not replace the qualifying Canadian work experience requirement.
Work performed while studying full-time generally does not count toward CEC eligibility. The relevant question is whether your Canadian employment qualifies, not simply whether you have studied or lived there.
An invitation allows a selected candidate to apply for permanent residence; it is not a PR approval. The invitation is valid for 60 days, and IRCC separately assesses whether the application meets the applicable requirements.
For invited candidates, the immediate priority is an accurate assessment of the eligibility and points claimed. For those not selected, 519 is the result of this particular CEC round, not a guaranteed cut-off for the next draw.
PEERLESS IMMIGRATION SERVICES can review whether your Canadian work history fits CEC, assess the points claimed in your profile, and explain which Express Entry options are relevant to your circumstances. If you have received an invitation, we can discuss support for your permanent residence application. An assessment does not guarantee selection or approval.

Discuss My Express Entry Profile
No. Round 449 selected Canadian Experience Class candidates. A profile eligible only for the Federal Skilled Worker Program was not covered by this round.
Yes. The tie-break at 519 was 21 September 2026 at 19:00:47 UTC. Eligible profiles submitted after that timestamp were outside the tie-break cut-off.
Not by itself. CEC requires qualifying Canadian skilled work experience. Work gained while studying full-time generally does not count toward that requirement.
An Express Entry invitation to apply is valid for 60 days. Receiving it does not mean permanent residence has been approved.
That cannot be promised. IRCC selects the round type and invitation count, and ranking outcomes depend on the eligible pool. This result does not establish a future cut-off.
