These are ROI scores, not federal PR points

A Tasmanian ROI ranking score measures claims under the state nomination system. It is separate from the federal skilled migration points test. The reported 317 and 76 should not be interpreted as federal visa cut-offs or scores guaranteeing selection in another round.

An invitation allows an applicant to seek nomination. It is not a visa grant, and the claims supporting the ROI still matter. Our Tasmania skilled migration page explains the main pathway distinctions.

What does this mean for applicants living in India?

This round does not create a general offshore invitation route. Tasmania’s subclass 491 Overseas Skilled Occupation Profiles pathway is closed, with no invitations planned through that pathway for 2026–27.

A separate overseas pathway remains available to qualifying health, allied health and teaching professionals with a closely related Tasmanian job offer. Eligible occupation groups cover school teachers, health diagnostic and promotion professionals, health therapy professionals, medical practitioners, and midwifery and nursing professionals.

The overseas job-offer pathway requires at least 30 hours a week, an eligible skills assessment and a genuine ongoing position with an employer established in Tasmania for at least 12 months. Neither the applicant nor their dependants may have lived in another Australian state or territory in the previous 12 months. Pay must meet local market rates and Australian-equivalent conditions.

Why supporting evidence matters after selection

Applicants under that overseas pathway provide a passport, EOI, current skills assessment and English evidence where required, a CV, formal employment offer and recruitment evidence. A job title alone does not establish eligibility; the offer must relate to the assessed occupation.
