14 October 2026: The ACT Government has released results for its Canberra Matrix round held on 12 October 2026. The published breakdown totals 261 invitations for subclass 190 nomination; no subclass 491 invitations were issued.
| Applicant group | Subclass 190 invitations |
|---|---|
| Doctorate Streamlined Pathway | 54 |
| Canberra residents - Small Business Owners | 18 |
| Canberra residents - Critical Skill Occupations | 126 |
| Overseas applicants - Critical Skill Occupations | 63 |
| Total (sum of published groups) | 261 |
The Small Business Owner minimum Matrix score was 120. Selection also depends on occupation demand, available places and submission timing; one score should not be treated as a universal cut-off.
| Occupation group | Canberra resident 190 | Overseas applicant 190 |
|---|---|---|
| Construction Managers (1331) | 100 | 95 |
| ICT Business and Systems Analysts (2611) | 140 | 120 |
| Registered Nurses (2544) | 115 | 80 |
These are selected minimum Matrix rankings from ACT's official 12 October PDF, not federal visa points or eligibility guarantees. Other occupations have different results; consult the full ranking document for the relevant group.
Subclass 190 is a permanent residence visa requiring state or territory nomination. ACT requires a commitment to live and work in Canberra for at least two years, measured from visa grant or arrival for those moving from overseas. Both Canberra resident and overseas applicant criteria must be considered in the appropriate category.
Applicants should review their pathway and occupation-specific position. A nomination invitation is not a visa grant, and this round does not establish the score or invitation volume for a future round.
