Migration Tasmania’s 5 November 2026 update confirms 96 invitations to apply for state nomination: 68 for subclass 190 and 28 for subclass 491. These are nomination invitations, not visa grants.
| Measure | Subclass 190 | Subclass 491 |
|---|---|---|
| Invitations | 68 | 28 |
| Gold Pass invitations | 11 | 1 |
| Other invitations | 57 Green Pass | 27 further invitations |
| Lowest invited ROI score | 315 | 74 |
ROI scores rank candidates within Tasmania’s system; they are not federal skilled-visa points thresholds. Matching a past result is not a promise of selection.
| Official snapshot | Subclass 190 | Subclass 491 |
|---|---|---|
| Nomination places available | 828 | 628 |
| Submitted ROIs on hand | 769 | 631 |
| Nomination applications awaiting decision | 94 | 84 |
| Invitations awaiting a lodged application | 119 | 62 |
| Six-week rolling average invitation score | 324 | 77 |
The figures are a dated snapshot. Available places are not reserved for individual candidates, and an invitation is a separate stage from an assessed nomination application.
Tasmania gives invited applicants 28 days to apply for nomination. Prepare the supporting documents for the selected pathway and check that they substantiate the information in the ROI. An application can be refused if eligibility or claimed attributes are not supported. Keep the invitation and supporting records together before paying and submitting.
Review your skills assessment, English results, employment evidence and relevant family documents against your actual pathway. A strong-looking score cannot compensate for an unsupported claim. Do not change duties, employment dates or priority attributes simply to reproduce another applicant’s ranking.
| Stage | Published charge |
|---|---|
| Submit a Registration of Interest | No charge |
| Apply for state nomination | AUD 387 plus 10% GST — AUD 425.70 including GST |
The nomination application fee is non-refundable. It is separate from the Home Affairs visa application charge and other assessment, medical, police, translation or professional costs. This state fee is not a complete visa or family budget.
This round does not announce a general reopening of Tasmania’s offshore subclass 491 Overseas Skilled Occupation Profiles pathway. Migration Tasmania says no invitations are planned for that pathway in 2026–27.
A separate overseas health or education job-offer pathway remains available to applicants meeting its conditions. It requires a relevant skills assessment and a qualifying Tasmanian job offer, including at least 30 hours of work per week, alongside the other requirements. An invitation headline alone does not establish an offshore applicant’s eligibility.
Start by identifying the pathway that fits your residence, occupation and evidence. Read our Tasmania skilled migration overview and dated state nomination tracker for related planning context. This report concerns the new 5 November round and does not replace the earlier October reports.
Peerless Immigration Services can review your occupation, current location and evidence to identify the nomination pathways worth assessing. No consultancy engagement guarantees an invitation, nomination, employment or visa approval.
