4 November 2026: Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) says its Express Entry system is recalculating points in existing profiles after the changes that took effect on 3 November 2026. Invitation rounds are paused during that process and will restart when it is complete.
IRCC’s current notice says recalculation could take up to two weeks. It does not provide a confirmed date for the next draw. For applicants in India and candidates already in the pool, the practical task is to keep the profile and supporting evidence accurate while the system completes the transition.
| Question | Current official position |
|---|---|
| Have the rules taken effect? | IRCC’s updated guidance confirms the changes from 3 November 2026. |
| What is the system doing? | Recalculating points in existing profiles. |
| What happens to invitation rounds? | They are paused during recalculation and resume when it is complete. |
| Is there a fixed next-draw date or CRS cut-off? | Neither is specified in the recalculation notice. |
The two-week indication is a processing estimate, not an announced draw schedule. A prediction that simply adds fourteen days to 3 November should not be treated as an invitation date. This update reports the implementation status; our earlier announcement explains the reform’s point tables.
The new Labour Market Integration factor considers eligible Canadian work experience, including relevant high-wage occupation points, or a qualifying high-wage job offer. It does not add the Canadian-experience and offer scores together. The occupation classification and the experience claimed matter; a high salary earned in India alone does not establish Canadian work experience.
A different displayed score should be assessed against the complete profile and current criteria. Avoid treating a projected increase as a guaranteed invitation. Our high-wage CRS guide explains the distinction and worked examples.
IRCC says candidates who have a valid offer that is missing from their profile should update it. Express Entry no longer requires an LMIA for an offer to qualify, but officers still assess whether the offer is genuine and meets the relevant programme requirements. An offer used for eligibility is not automatically an offer that earns high-wage CRS points.
The official job-offer page warns that the online system does not yet fully reflect the changed LMIA requirements and gives temporary instructions. Candidates should apply that guidance to the actual offer rather than guess entries or assume an old screen means the policy has not changed. Our qualifying-offer explainer covers the evidence and separate work-permit distinction.
IRCC requires language results to be less than two years old both when completing the Express Entry profile and when submitting the permanent-residence application. A period without invitation rounds is therefore a useful time to plan around document expiry, rather than assume all evidence will remain usable indefinitely.
The official notice does not forecast the next cut-off. Its estimate concerns recalculation, not the score required for a future invitation. Until a round is officially published, a claimed date, invitation total or cut-off remains unconfirmed. Plan around your verified eligibility and evidence rather than paying for an offer or making relocation commitments based on a prediction.
Peerless Immigration Services can help organise a review of your profile information, employment evidence and job-offer documents, and identify questions requiring authorised Canadian immigration advice. Share the actual records and current profile position rather than relying only on a predicted CRS increase. No invitation or visa outcome is guaranteed.

IRCC says its system is recalculating existing profile scores following the changes effective on 3 November 2026. Invitation rounds are paused during this process and will resume when it is complete.
The current IRCC notice does not give a specific restart date. It says recalculation could take up to two weeks. That estimate must not be presented as a confirmed draw appointment.
The recalculation notice does not announce the next cut-off. The next round’s category, invitation total and qualifying score must be established from its official results; the pause alone cannot determine them.
Yes. IRCC says candidates with a valid job offer that is not included should update their profile. Its current job-offer page also explains a temporary system mismatch for offers without an LMIA. Use that official guidance for the actual circumstances.
The Labour Market Integration factor awards the applicable Canadian work-experience score or qualifying high-wage offer score, rather than both added together. Other CRS factors are assessed separately.
No. The change concerns Express Entry job-offer assessment. It should not be treated as work authorisation or as removal of every LMIA requirement from the separate work-permit system.
